These Labels are dated and every effort needs to be taken to return them within the dates printed

The sample bottles
The bottles look wet inside. DO NOT worry about these small droplets.
It is an inhibitor agent to keep the inside of the bottle free of bacteria and neutralise the chlorine in the water sample.
How to return the samples
Place all the bottles in the small A4 box envelope or jiffy bag, provided and then place the box in the prepaid plastic envelope, pull off the seal and stick down.
If you wish you can use parcel tape to secure the package but normally the seal is very good at sealing the pack.
Take the package to your nearest post box before the final daily emptying of the post box.
If you miss the last "pick up" please store the box in a cool place over night like a fridge, do not leave in direct sun light or in a car. Post the following working day including Sat am. (not on a Sunday)
Take the pack to any Pillar box, super market posting station or Post Office.
Post the pack into the box its all prepaid and it does not require to be given to Post Office Counter services (you can post, at a Post Office to receive a receipt of posting)
The special delivery package will be received by the lab the following day

How to take a water sample using Alegion Water Postal sample Kits
You must use adequate PPE at all times. Some of the water samples will be taken from hot outlets high velocity lances / spray heads, outlets dispensing detergents and chemicals.
You must have and use an adequate protective shield as you fill the sample bottles. The bottle could be hot from the water filling it and you have a risk of scalding your skin.The detergent and car wash chemicals can cause irritation to skin and eyes, so care and correct PPE must be used when taking water samples from car wash, jet wash lances, hot taps, cold outlets and mains water.
Taking A Legionella Test
Hot / warm water Outlets,taps, lances and spray heads
1st Wash Hands before testing or use disposable sterile gloves
Legionella Testing Method from hot water tanks, POU or calorifiers
Take a clear bottle for Legionella testing label :-Legionella
Wipe tap,outlet or spout with a mild cleaning agent like:- Mr. Muscle, Jiff, Ciff etc and rinse spout.
Legionella tests are taken from hot or warm water outlets .
Open and Run :- tap, outlet or lance for 2 mins
Water will be hot you must have an adequate protective shield as the bottle will be hot and you have a risk of scalding your body, If you do not use adequate PPE.
Take off black bottle cap fill bottle to the top (don’t worry about over filling)
Do not place cap onto a surface keep hold of the black cap
Do not worry about over filling the bottle, it needs to be as full as possible.
Screw black bottle cap on, tightly, check seal is good ! and it is not leaking !

Taking A Water Quality or TACC test from Tap, running outlet, hose, jetting device.
Mains water Outlets ONLY
1st Wash Hands before testing or use disposable sterile gloves
Wipe tap spout with a mild cleaning agent like:- Mr. Muscle, Jiff, Ciff etc and rinse spout.
Run outlet for 2 mins
Take a smaller brown bottle for TACC testing .Label TACC
TACC tests are taken from cold water taps and water tanks
Take off white bottle cap & fill bottle from any outlet being supplied main pressure water (it will come from the tap very quickly)
Do not place cap onto a surface keep hold of the white cap
Do not worry about over filling the bottle, it needs to be as full as possible.
Screw black bottle cap on, tightly, check seal is good ! and it is not leaking !
Taking An EXTENDED Water Quality or TACC test from Car Wash, Water tank, IBC, or interceptor.
Stored water or Tank Fed water outlets
1st Wash Hands before testing or use disposable sterile gloves
Take a smaller brown bottle for the water sample
NOTE it will have on the label EXTENDED TACC
TACC tests are taken from car wash outlets, cold water tanks, IBC, water Tanks and interceptors
Take off white cap & fill bottle from any outlet being supplied by the cold water tank or interceptor.
If it safe and you are able. fill bottle directly from the tank
Placing the bottle below the surface of the water and allowing it to fill up. to the top
(don’t worry about over filling)
Screw cap on tightly check seal is good and it is not leaking
